At Siftery, the privacy and security of our users’ data is our highest priority.
On May 25 2018, the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will go into effect. The GDPR unifies several existing privacy and security laws under one comprehensive law which will apply across the European Union. The GDPR aims to strengthen and expand data privacy protections for citizens of the EU and provide them with greater control over how their data is collected, accessed, shared and used.
Given that Siftery engages with users in the European Union, we have been working hard to ensure that we are in compliance with these new regulations before May 25th 2018. We are committed to providing our users with the best and most secure experience possible and want to ensure they trust us to handle their data. As an extension of our overall privacy and GDPR efforts, we currently participate in the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield programs administered by the US Department of Commerce.
Additionally, we are also undergoing a SOC2 Type II audit. From the foundation up we are always working to ensure our technology and services are reliable and secure. We believe that it is important for our consumers to have a strong understanding of what security practices we adopt and how they impact how they use our platform. SOC2 audits are a reliable way of gaining third party verification that our information systems are governed by policies that meet certain standards for security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.
